The divray Torah and "This Coming Week In Jewish History" are collected from various sources on the internet, and
the editors occasionally write their own divray Torah as well. (The "This Coming Week In Jewish History" column
[taken from ou.org] is originally from the book "Day By Day In Jewish History",
by Rav Abraham Bloch, who is Howie and Mark Apfel’s grandfather!) The articles are then edited to conform to the
allotted space, to provide clarity and proper grammar where necessary, and to adhere to the formatting standard.
The "Jewish Personality Of The Week" is delivered as "The Rest Of The Story", modeled after WCBS radio personality
Paul Harvey, who delivers his "Rest Of The Story" segment on an almost daily basis. The column is researched by
the editor in various web sites and books, from which facts about the person’s life are collected. They are then
assembled and rewritten in a specific way that will best deliver the weekly message. The editor strives to
illustrate how events occurring early in the life of the personality have a profound effect on them, raising him
or her from relative obscurity to prominence. In most cases, the reader is somewhat familiar with the personality
of the week, but is unaware of the life-changing events that made the personality noteworthy.

| How do you decide whom to pick for the Jewish Personality Of The Week? |
|
We first edit "This Coming Week In Jewish History" and then peruse it to see if there are any noteworthy people
mentioned in the week’s events. If so, we typically select one of them. However, not every Jewish personality can
be easily integrated into the "Rest Of The Story" format. If so, we choose, in no particular order, another personality that can be.
